How to Obtain a Library Card
Library cards are free of charge to any citizen having reached the age of five and living in the state of Texas. A Texas driver’s license or Texas I. D. and a current proof of address are required.
A child under the age of 16 is required to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian when applying for a library card.


The Knox Memorial Library, the main branch of the Austin County Library system, was a gift to the citizens of Wallis and surrounding communities by Robert W. Knox in memory of his great-great grandfather, Joseph E. Wallis, the founder of Wallis, Texas.
